hello list, despite the things i wrote yesterday, i had some time to do a patch with the vactrol phaser. it may be a bit unusual soundwise, but i had so little time. maybe next week i can do some more typical things with it. 1. first i created a synth line with the following modules: 2x a111, 1x a138, 1x a185, 1x a131, 1x a142, 1x a145, 1x a102, 2x a155, 1x a154, 1x a156 nothing special here i guess. this is the sequence without the phaser. http://www.selfoscillate.de/a100files/nophaser-cut.mp3 2. this sequence is then used to feed the vactrol phaser in "6-stage mode", this means that only half of the module is used. an a147 lfo (which is controlled by an a155) is used to shift the phase. also a bit of positive feedback is applied. http://www.selfoscillate.de/a100files/phaser6pole-cut.mp3 3. ok, now we are leaving the standard. the stage 4 output is patched into an a137 wave multiplier. the a137 output is going into an a132 vca, which is modulated by an a147 lfo (the same one which sweeps the phase). the a132 output is then patched back into the feedback 1 input. http://www.selfoscillate.de/a100files/phaserfeed1-cut.mp3 4. now a second feedback loop is applied. stage 2 output is patched into the feedback 6 input, which emphasizes the higher frequencies a bit. http://www.selfoscillate.de/a100files/phaserfeed2-cut.mp3 ok, thats all for now. i'll be back on monday. best wishes ingo
